Message from AMPI President, Captain Peter Liley

It is with great sadness and regret that I must report the tragic death of Captain Chris Hart, Great Barrier Reef pilot.  Chris was on a flight to join a ship bound for Hydrographers Passage when the plane crashed.  Australian Reef Pilots have a pilot base near Jomard Entrance in Papua and New Guinea and their pilots offer a service through Hydrographers Passage and Jomard Entrance.

We extend our condolences to his family and colleagues.

It is timely to remind pilots that AMPI provides counselling free for members and their families experiencing stress or anxiety.

Please feel free to contact Rod Jepsen 0409 300 737 or Marcus Romanic 0419 382 352.
