2nd Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Forum

Following the very successful inaugural Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Forum hosted by the Indonesian Maritime Pilots Association in 2017. AMPI is proud to host the 2nd forum in association with our AMPI2019 Pilotage and Port Logistics Conference.

AMPI2019 aims are closely aligned with the majority of the aims of the declaration signed by participants of the Inaugural Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Forum particularly:

1.

  • A)   Improve Maritime Pilots Professionalism through increased knowledge and exposure to the latest thinking, ideas and technology related to pilotage
  • B)   Advocate for safety of Maritime Pilots, through ensuring open relationships with regulators, Port Authorities and facilitating the sharing safety lessons.
  • C)    Enhancing cooperation amongst Pilots.  The event will include many opportunities for social interaction leading to sharing of ideas and knowledge both at the event and after the event.
  • D)   Enhancing communication with Government and other stakeholders. AMPI2019 will include representatives from Government, IMPA, Port Authorities, Towage operators and Pilots from many parts of the world.
  • E)   The event will be open to ALL Marine Pilots and other interested stakeholders with 1 day set aside for specific member only sessions.

2.

This event over 4 days will include many opportunities to build relationships through a range of organised and informal social events. This building of friendships and sharing of ideas will naturally lead to discussion on ways to improve the industry and deliver more reliable and efficient provision of pilotage.

Friday will include some Pilot Only Sessions the content of which will be advised closer to the event.

AMPI looks forward to meeting the objectives of the declaration signed in Bali August 2017

NOTE: Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots Forum members who have not done so are urged to submit papers or advise if they would like to present Country reports in members only session Friday 1st of November 2019.

Submissions should be sent to admin@ampi.org.au
