Located just 80 kilometres south of Sydney, travelling to Wollongong can be as fun and adventurous or as quick and streamlined as you like.

Take the Grand Pacific Drive and experience coastal rainforests, quaint seaside villages and the 665 metre Sea Cliff Bridge all on your way into Wollongong. 

Alternatively you can jump on the M1 Motorway from Sydney and be here in 80 minutes. You decide!

If travelling from Canberra, the journey is an easy 250 kilometres via the Hume Highway.

By car – for up-to-date travel conditions including incidents, road works and closures – visit the Live Traffic website.

By air – Shellharbour Airport has flights direct from Wollongong to Brisbane or Melbourne with Link Airways.

CONFERENCE

AMPI is pleased to announce that our Australia's Maritime Future conference will be held in Wollongong from 30th to 31st March 2022.

We will bring together national experts presenting on topics including:

  • Future freight task
  • Diversified Maritime Workforce
  • Port Sustainability
  • Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships
  • Seafarers welfare and associated health

This event will present an opportunity to network with maritime experts from throughout Australia.

The conference will also assist in developing and maintaining the high standards of pilotage in regional ports.

Accomodation

The Novotel Wollongong Northbeach Hotel offers a 15% discount on published rates to all conference delegates. 

Delegates to quote AMP290322 to activate the discount.  

  • Room types and rates are subject to availability on the time of booking and are valid up to 30 days to arrival. To secure the booking, a credit card will be required with 1st night deposit taken at the time of booking.
  • Cancellation Terms: No charge for cancellation outside 7 days to arrival, For cancellations within 7 days to the arrival date, 1 night cancel fee applies
  • In case of no show, or non-arrival 100% fee will apply.
  • The hotel is not holding any rooms for this event.
  • Standard Breakfast Charges.

COVID CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations will be handled in accordance with the AMPI cancellation policy.

Cancellations due to government COVID restrictions will not incur a cancellation fee.
