Richard is a Partner of R2A Due Diligence Engineers, a niche firm of Consulting Engineers specialising in defensible risk management.

Recent projects include the marine pilotage safety case for Sydney Harbour & Port Botany for the Sydney Ports Harbour Master, Hazard and Risk Analysis for the Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Western Sydney Airport, E-Class tram and X’trapolis train procurement due diligence for Public Transport Victoria, Pole 3 (the new DC interisland link in NZ) due diligence review for Transpower, expert risk management member of the Powerline Bushfire Safety Taskforce arising from the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission, Member of the Ministerial Panel into the Eildon Dam Upgrade and very many other reviews. Richard is a presenter for courses for Engineering Education Australia, especially the very successful 2 day joint EEA/R2A Engineering Due Diligence Workshop for directors and senior managers.

Richard is the primary author of the R2A Text: Engineering Due Diligence (in its 11th edition). Richard assisted in drafting the 3rd revision of the Engineers Australia Safety Case Guidelines.
